Miranda from 'The Tempest'

Miranda comes from Shakespeare's play, The Tempest. Miranda and her father, Prospero, attempt to restore his societal position which was unjustly snatched away from him. To achieve this, they conjure a wild storm on the sea. The storm causes a ship containing the two men that took away Prospero's title, to wash upon the shore of the island on which Miranda and her father live. Miranda finds love in Ferdinand, one of the sailors accompanying the offenders. Miranda is young, beautiful, and naive. Her relationship with Ferdinand can be likened to that of a prince and princess of a fairy tale.
